MY STORY

Born in Lebanon, on September 5, Zinat, a Lebanese singer active mainly in Lebanon and other Arab countries is well-known for her brilliant voice and exceptional charisma on the stage. She sings in several languages: Arabic, German, Kurdish, Turkish, English and French – and masters various styles from Traditional to Pop&Dance.

Already in her early years at school, Zinat was chosen to represent the school’s activities in regional competitions for singing and acting.

Born to a Lebanese father and a Lebanese mother, Zinat’s debut was in 2014, when she released her first album. The album includes nine songs with different music twists such as Lebanese, Khaliji, Iraqi and Romance.

Besides music and singing, Zinat has always shown great interest in ancient cultures and books that carry timeless truths. Her private research in and study of those matters as well as the many years she spent in Europe have contributed to forming the fascinating and multi-facetted personality Zinat is today.

From her childhood days, Zinat was catapulted into Germany, to where her family had relocated for several years. It was there that Zinat first began to feel the heritage of her own European descendance – one of her ancestors had been a Frenchman – for she immediately felt at home in Europe. She easily picked up the German language and was the first of her family fully to integrate into the German way of life. Those young European years have undoubtedly left their imprint on the Lebanese artist. As is reflected both by her biography and her range of musical talents, Zinat successfully combines the best of her oriental background with the best of her European experience , thus contributing to the understanding between Orient & Occident by her very being, and acting as a true ambassador of mankind wherever she goes.

Zinat’s exceptional performance at school in Germany made her teacher urge her parents to send the girl to high school. Zinat quickly became fluent in German, Turkish and Serbo-Croatian, to which, at a later stage, she added Kurdish. Her talent in languages enabled Zinat, while still in school, to act as an interpreter for many immigrant families, helping them run errands and communicate with the German authorities.

Since her early days as a singer, Zinat has travelled all around Europe and Turkey, entertaining at various occasions, parties and celebrations. From 2009 to 2019, Zinat took regular lessons in singing and vocal training with Edit Siegfried-Szabo, a renowned Swiss opera singer and vocal coach in Basel, Switzerland. This period of intensive training is documented by a certificate issued to Zinat in 2018. In 2009, Zinat was also introduced to the Swiss writer and translator  Caroline Isabelle von Sinner, who acts as one of Zinat’s songwriters and as her liaison manager in Europe.

Since 2009, Zinat has been able to focus increasingly on her artistic career and to share her great talent with an ever-growing circle of admirers.

2013 was a particularly fruitful year: In cooperation with famous composers, musicians and song writers, and with the support of Ekia Productions company, Zinat produced her first album and video clips which were most successfully released in 2014.

Since her debut, Zinat has been busy performing live, on TV and on radio on innumerable occasions, and her songs are being sung all over the Arab world as a result. In the summer of 2014, Zinat was invited to Jordan and given a special reception in Amman in honor of her first album.

In the summer of 2018, Zinat returned to the music industry by launching her video clip “Zato Zato” directed by Haifa Fakih. Zinat managed to present the audience again with a different performance and style. The song was written by Nizar Francis and was broadcasted through several channels such as Aghani Aghani and Hawa com in Lebanon and the Middle East.

“Zato Zato” achieved great success and was selected as one of the most played songs in the Arab world. The video clip was also very well received by European viewers.

Only a few months later, Zinat released her second single in 2018, “3ala Rassi”, a Khaliji song which, within a spectacular two weeks, reached Anghami’s top 10 Khaliji songs.

On 29 October 2019, when the Lebanese people were gathering in peaceful demonstrations all over the country, Zinat released the video clips with the song “La Libanaise”, a song which Caroline Isabelle von Sinner had texted especially for Zinat and her beloved Lebanon back in 2016 already and which had been a candidate on the list of some 670 songs competing for the Swiss contribution to the ESC contest in 2017.

Between 29 October 2019 and 10 January 2020, the video clip of “La Libanaise” generated more than 1 million clicks on youtube.

But then came winter, then COVID-19, and, on 4th August 2020, the apocalyptic explosion in the port of Beirut with its devastating destructive impact. As a result, Zinat stepped up her efforts to organize help for people in need, appealing to her contacts in Lebanon and abroad to donate money. That same year, Zinat was nominated ambassador to IOPHR, an international, independent, non-governmental and non-profit organization promoting human rights and world peace. The organization is accredited and registered by the European Union (the kingdom of the Netherlands) and has its headquarters in the city of Eindhoven, Netherlands.

In 2019 (“best singer”) and 2020 (“ambassador to IOPHR”) Zinat received the MC International Award, an award by which the MC International Company honours outstanding personalities for their individual achievements eg in the field of arts and music or for their personal humanitarian engagement. The award ceremony took place at the Casino du Liban in Lebanon.

Following all her artistic accomplishments, Zinat was invited to join the STARZLY App and thus continues to work on her career, which involves engagements in Lebanon and abroad, particularly the Gulf Region, as well as working on new songs and video clips. At the end of October 2020, Zinat released the song entitled “Have you ever wondered” with a video clip directed by Haifa Fakih and lyrics written by Caroline Isabelle von Sinner.

More projects are in the making. We keep you posted! Meanwhile, follow Zinat on social media.
